E-mail Marketing 101

In a world of digital communication where algorithms rule supreme, it’s essential for business owners, entrepreneurs, coaches, practitioners, and content creators (you!) to develop an e-mail strategy. Every e-mail you send ends up in the inbox of the person who has agreed to be on your list (no algorithms!!). And this sort of “agreement” or “contract” leads to mutually beneficial communication and is, therefore, one of the best ways to share your offerings with the world. Newsletters can tell stories, include images and artwork, and sell courses, classes, and other offerings. They’re versatile–and they are your best opportunity to connect to customers. Do you already have a list but never communicate? I’ve got you. Need to optimize, strategize, and expand? Great. No idea where to start? No worries. 

This four-day, four-hour course will change your email marketing game in less than a week. You will leave the workshop with the foundation for your newsletter. And I’ll answer your most wondered-about and stressed-over questions for that dreamy newsletter that’s been on your list of to-dos (that you haven’t executed yet!). 

We’ll discuss the lay of the land, creating a plan, lead generators, automation, and flows, and copywriting. You’ll leave Numinous Newsletters, Creating and Crafting E-mail Newsletters 101 a changed person, feeling inspired to share your visions for the world. 

Class #1:The Lay of the Land 

Intention, Commitment, Platform

During this workshop we’ll discuss:

• Options for hosting your newsletter 

• Creating  commitment and consistency with your audience  

• Setting intentions for your e-mail marketing strategy. 

I started my newsletter list in October 2020 with thirty friends who I knew loved poetry and witchcraft. Now, two and and a half years later I write weekly to thousands of writers every Monday. This worked in part because of commitment and intention. I knew who I was writing to, when, and why! Together, we’ll sort this out to give you the who, what, when, where, why of your newsletter so you too can build a dedicated community of potential clients! 

Class #2:Making a Map 

Templates, Imagery, A Plan

You’ll leave this workshop with:

•  An actionable plan for your newsletter.

• An understanding of image sourcing, graphics and templates   

• A content strategy that is intuitive and works for you.

I never know what I’m going to write about until I sit down to write it. I have friends who create monthly planners for their content, AND I even know creators who write all of their content a year in advance (I know, it’s incredible). But, this is about knowing who YOU are, as a business, brand, practitioner, coach, and it’s about staying true and honoring that perspective in a way that works for your business, customers, and your life. 

Class #3:Go With the Flow 

Creating a Lead Generator, Automation 

During this workshop we’ll cover: 

• Creating Lead Generators 

• Content for E-mail Addresses

• Building an Audience

• E-mail Flows

• Automation

How do you find folks who are dreaming to be on your newsletter list? Lead generators have entered the chat. We’ll talk about creating content in exchange for e-mails, and how to set up flows to deliver this content. How do you keep an audience engaged? What do subscribers look for? What makes an email that your audience actually clicks to open? You’ll have your audience and community built in no time. 

Class #4: The Pen is Mightier 

Writing E-mail Copy, Prompts, Calls to Action 

You’ll leave this workshop with: 

• A new approach to copywriting

• E-mail prompts for your own newsletter

• Inspiration for messaging 

• A new lease on creativity 

In this workshop, we’ll discuss compelling copy. This is all about communication, baby! We’ll talk prompts to keep you going, crafting the perfect call to action, and how to take your copy to dazzling heights. Writing compelling copy is an art that will turn your audience into customers…how you get the message across can skyrocket your sales…so come ready to take off (I promise this is the last time I’ll use this metaphor)!

What if I’ve already started a newsletter list? 

AMAZING! It’s never too late to hit the drawing board and come up with a new plan for your content. This workshop is for beginners, those looking for inspiration, and those looking to reach (and create) their audience. All of my ten years of e-mail marketing experience (both for myself and my clients) is open and available to you during these four meetings. 

Do I need to have experience with e-mail marketing platforms? 

Nope! These platforms are intuitive and made to help you succeed. All you’ll need to do is pick the right one for you! P.S. I’ll help! 

What if I’m afraid to put myself out there?

Totally understandable. Fear doesn’t go away. We just learn to embrace it and do the damn thing. Sometimes, expansion causes growing pains. Don’t worry! You’re not alone.
